For the past eight years, Charles has been on the Board of Directors of the Pikes Peak Writers and, in 2004, was the Director of the prestigious Pikes Peak Writers Conference, rated sixth in the nation by Writers Digest.
Charles Rush's second novel, One Turn of the Cards, may now be ordered from Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Publish America. This is a fact-based and thoroughly researched historical novel about the men fighting with Terry's Texas Rangers during the Civil War.
His first novel, The Devil’s Chessboard, was released in June, 2004 and was set in Hood’s Texas Brigaade. A third novel was a winning contest entry during an Albuquerque writers conference and is a sequel to the first work. This novel, currently titled, A Galvanized Yankee, will be about a Confederate officer released from a Union prison to fight Indians on the western plains.
Born, raised and schooled in Texas, Charles Rush spent almost thirty years traveling the world as a US Air Force officer. He retired as a Colonel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he spends his time writing and enjoying The Great Outdoors.
